This was a delightful conversation that went in many unexpected directions—everything from the wisdom to be gained from reading Moby Dick in 2025 to the pleasures of raising a puppy to wellness advice to the lessons learned from Ian Kershaw’s biography of Hitler.
I don’t care about people’s politics if they have morals and see this moment as a threat to the way we live and understand right from wrong. I’m happy to argue about policies but not blatant corruption.
Great conversation between you 2 thoughtful & kind men. That is strength & bravery when you speak about the importance of respect for everyone; family, friends, pets!! Trump isn't able to do this. Thank you so much for the book list too!!
I completely agree with Miles about Moby Dick. I highly recommend to anyone who is a Moby Dick fan - or a fan of American literature, or of reading generally - to participate at least once in the annual New Bedford Whaling Museum Moby Dick Marathon held in January. I believe the Provincetown Massachusetts Public library also has a Moby Dick Marathon, in March I think. A Moby Dick Marathon is the perfect way to spend a weekend in a cold New England winter.
Excellent conversation! Please start a book club. I am currently reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.😊
Time Magazine shows Trump wearing a red tie. But it's actually a tampon that dislodged from his vagi-throat. 😱
I love the idea of a book club.

listening to this retrospectively - 15min: coffee talk...additionally amusing now in context of current "coffee grounds" topic.

Also, count me in on the book club.
Hannah needs a farm 😂
Yeah, the 2nd Cabinet is an amazing example of sycophantic behavior.
What Trump has done does not compare to the crimes of the Nazis... YET. Also, more dog content, please! :D
Cool all the doom and gloom can be a bit much sometimes
